Three minors were killed by Pakistan troops in Poonch

On Monday, in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district three minor were killed and eight civilians were injured in a firing done by Pakistan’s troops along the LOC (Line of Control).

A 10-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl were two of those killed in this incident. The injured were admitted to district hospital of Digwar sector of Poonch.

Police officials said that Pakistani troops have targeted dozens of villages and posts with automatic gunfire and mortar shells in Poonch on early Monday morning.

The Indian Army Official said that “Indian army was retaliating strongly and effectively”.

Pakistan has been constantly violating the ceasefire along the LOC. Last Wednesday two of the civilians were injured by one such violation. Before this incident, two soldiers were injured in Pakistan open fire.

The Pakistan army has committed around 285 ceasefire violations until August 1st; around 228 such violations were conducted by them in 2016. In another area of Jammu and Kashmir, the army has filed an infiltration along LOC.
