You can grill it, bake it, scramble it or eat it raw! And never mind whether you love it or hate it, you simply can't ignore these cubes of wholesome dairy goodness that packs with them oodles of nutrition and endless cooking options.

The “versatile”  paneer or cottage cheese, a common ingredient in Indian  and South Asian cuisine, isn't just a storehouse of great taste and good health, but is possibly one of the most humble ingredients that can be prepared without much fuss.

Easy to make, you can make mouth-watering paneer at home by squirting some fresh lime juice or adding some vinegar to a pot of boiling milk and later seiving the curdled milk through a muslin cloth to make soft, mushy paneer.

Once you are done, quickly heat some oil in a pan, toss in shredded ginger and chopped green chillies and saute for half a minute. Toss in paneer, some red chilli powder, salt to taste, half a teaspoon of chaat masala, some freshly cut coriander and mint leaves and mix well. Remove from heat and keep the pan aside.

Next, take some papads, cut them into halves and grill them lightly. Immediately roll the papads into cones. Place them in small glasses and stuff them with zesty paneer stuffing. Top them with a mint leaf.

Whether you are cooking to “wow” your date or need to stir up fancy and tasty in no-time or just feel like loading up your plate with goodness of mother dairy, this zesty recipe will get you started and done in a zap and fetch you a standing ovation perhaps.
