Facts behind few food myths!

Food myths are not jut confusing they are even fatal at times. Confirm what is good and what is bad from an expert or doctor and decide on what to consume. Do not just stick to myths and ensure to take in nutritious food and strike balance.

Are eggs bad for the heart?
Research indicate that eggs are not linked with cholesterol. Eggs are good source of nutrients like iron, Vitamin D, zinc and Choline. To take in the good effects of eggs, take them in moderate amount. Prefer boiled eggs instead of stuff made using oil.

Are nuts junk food?
It is good to have nuts as mid meal snack. Nuts are good source of nutrients and proteins. Only thing is to take them in limit. Just take in hand full of nuts and do not over consume.

Can’t we use olive oil for cooking?
Olive oil is a steady oil. It can be used for cooking, without actually burning. Avoid burning and deep frying with olive oil. It has a low smoking point.  Opt for whole foods with healthy fats. Do not go for fat-free diet.

Is frozen food not nutritious?
Most times,  frozen foods are plucked and frozen immediately in a controlled environment. Thus, best of minerals and vitamins get locked and preserved safely. So, it is not a great idea to avoid frozen food. Only thing important here is to look for unnecessary food or added sugars.

Should we eat more meat to get high protein?
Remember, meat is one of the sources of protein and not the only one. Many protein-rich plant food provide required nutrients to the body. Other good sources of proteins are seeds, nuts, grains and legumes.
