Man Charged For Shooting Of Children And Grandmother

A 31-year-old man charged and arrested on Thursday with the shooting of a grandmother and two children last year, the Baltimore police said.

Delanie McCloud was charged with three counts of the attempted first-degree murder, reckless endangerment and also with handgun violations.

The police said that he is responsible for the Sept. 3rd, 2016 shooting that occurred at about 8 p.m. on the 900 block of the McAleer Court in east Baltimore.

Police said that, a 61-year-old woman, who was in a wheelchair, was shot in the leg and also in hip, a 6-year-old boy suffered from the gunshot wound in the leg and a 4-year-old girl was shot in the foot. The victims were taken to the hospital and survived, police said.

Police said that they were caught in the crossfire Labor Day weekend last year. The shooter was aiming at a group of men near the Latrobe Homes.

Days later, police released a surveillance video showing parts of the shooting, but there was still no break in the shooting case.

Man Died After Intentionally Hit By Car

The Baltimore police Detective Donny Moses said that "at that time, there were a lot of people out there that evening. It was a warm evening in September, but nobody saw anything. We are going to fast forward to January. Out of the blue, we got an anonymous tip who named the suspect. They made it easy for us."

Police said that McCloud is no stranger to them. Police are also thankful for the tip that ended up leading to McCloud's capture.

Police said they still do not know what led McCloud to allegedly target that other group of people during the shooting.

Anyone with the information on the case are asked to call police at 410-396-2221 or the Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-7LOCKUP.
