According to the Network, Indian-orgin Presidential candidate, Kamala Harris’s Town hall on CNN got network its highest ratings ever on such event on single candidate.

The second African-American woman elected to the US senate, has drawn comparisons to Barack Obama since early in her political career.

CNN announced on Tuesday that the broadcast was the most-watched cable news single candidate election town hall, according to Nielsen data.

“In total viewers, the Town Hall averaged 1.957 million, a +75% advantage over CNN's prior four (1.119 million),” CNN said in a statement.

It has been reported in last week that the Harris Campaign raised over $1.5 million in 24 hours since she announced her presidential bid.

Harris officially launched her campaign for the US presidential election in 2020 to take on President Donald Trump on Monday, saying she was "honored" to announce her bid on a day when Americans celebrated Martin Luther King Jr who sought inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi.
