All The Residents of Lahaul Village Tested COVID Positive

The entire Lahaul of Himachal Pradesh is tested positive for COVID-19. It is the most affected place in the state.

A resident, Bhushan Thakur (52 years) is tested negative in the village. Expect him everyone is infected with coronavirus. It is noticed that increases cases in the area is due to a social gathering a few days back. Even several people from surrounded areas have tested positive. This connects COVID infections and religious programme that held recently.

The district administration stopped the tourism movement to avoid the outspread of coronavirus. Currently, there is restriction to visit Teling nullah of Rohtang Tunnel. The villages beyond the tunnel are marked as containment zones.

Thorang is a village of 42 residents and they migrated to Kullu for winter. The villagers have gone through the COVID test from which 41 are positive and 1 is negative.

Bhushan Thankur, the only one who tested negative has a family of five members. All of his five family members are infected. He says,“I am staying in a separate room and have been cooking my meals for the last four days. I was with y family members until we got to know about the results. However, I was strict about the protocols like sanitising hands, wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing in public areas. People should not take this disease lightly”

The villages Lahaul and Spiti has 856 COVID infected people. This became a biggest concern for the district officials.
