It has been years since Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar took up the direction chair. He is returning back to direction with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and the film features Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. The film's final budget touched Rs 178 crores and it is huge. Karan Johar and his team recovered 90 percent of the investment through the digital, satellite and other non-theatrical deals.

Amazon Prime purchased the digital rights of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani for Rs 80 crores and the satellite rights are sold for Rs 50 crores. The music rights are picked up for Rs 30 crores and the makers recovered Rs 160 crores. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has fair chances to bring handsome profits for the makers as the risk is quite low. The film is slated for release on Friday.
