Vivo will introduce the X Fold 6 in China later this month, as announced on Tuesday. Recently, Vivo has been gradually sharing information about its next foldable smartphone. This new model is anticipated to be the follow-up to the Vivo X Fold 5, which was also launched around the same period last year. Company leaders have discussed the phone’s screen technology and camera features in a series of teasers lately. In a post on Weibo, Vivo disclosed that the X Fold 6 will be released on June 26 at 7:00pm CST (4:30pm IST). Before its launch, the company has started accepting pre-orders for the foldable device through online channels in China. Customers who reserve the phone early will have a chance to enter a lucky draw, with some winners receiving the smartphone for free.

Additionally, Vivo mentioned that the new book-style foldable will be available in a fresh Blue Hole color option. This hue is said to be inspired by deep ocean blue sinkholes. Official pictures indicate that the device will have smooth corners and a 2.5D metal frame with straight vertical edges. Earlier, Vivo's Vice President of Product, Huang Tao, confirmed that the X Fold 6 will come with OriginOS 6 Fold, which is based on Android 16. A key aspect of the new operating system will be the improved Atomic Workbench, specifically designed for multitasking on larger foldable screens. This feature is expected to enable users to operate various applications at the same time on the spacious inner display. Vivo has stated that the upcoming model will include its new AI Light Office Tool set, which will offer several AI features aimed at enhancing multitasking and managing workflows. Regarding the camera setup, Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao recently confirmed that the foldable will come with a quad-rear-camera configuration, featuring a 200-megapixel main camera. This sensor has supposedly been developed through Vivo's Blueprint imaging project together with Samsung. It is expected to have a sensor size of 1/1.4 inches, an aperture of f/1.68, and optical image stabilization (OIS).

Internally, the Vivo X Fold 6 will run on a custom 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor. The company claims that this chip offers a peak NPU performance that is 111 percent better than the one in the Vivo X Fold 5. More information about the phone is likely to come out as the launch date, set for June 26 in China, approaches.
