Murder Of Two Maryland Teenagers Remains Unsolved

Police believe that the mysterious double murder of two Maryland teenagers just the night before their high school graduation was not a random crime.

Shadi Adi Najjar, aged 17, and Artem Ziberov, aged 18, were found shot dead the night of 5th June in a parked car on a residential street in the Montgomery Village, which is about 23 miles north of the Washington, D.C., said the Montgomery County police.

Both the teenagers were set to graduate from the Northwest High School in Germantown the next day.

One teen was shot nearly 10 times, while the other was shot nearly four times, said Capt. Darren Francke, the director of Major Crimes for the Montgomery County Police Department.

More than 30 casings of multiple guns were found at the scene, said the police.

Police still have no suspects and are asking for the public's help in order to solve the case, Francke said. He also said that the police believe that there was more than one shooter, also believe the perpetrators and at least one of the victims knew each other.

Francke said that the peers from the victims' high school may know about the crime, and he has appealed for the students with information to share it.

The families of both the teenagers are shocked, but have been very cooperative to police, Francke said.

He also said that Najjar's family is working on to increase the reward money from the current $10,000 sum to $20,000, and he said that people who might have information need to come forward and speak to the police. Before Najjar's funeral, his father has begged for the information to find the teens' killers.
